Today it was time to explore the second of the two large lakes which gave Interlaken its name. We took the bus to Bohlingen and then started to walk the road along the edge of the lake. The early morning mist gave the lake and the mountains an eerie look.
While we walked some other people had a better idea and zipped past us on their Sedgeways. You can hire them in Interlaken at an astronomical price but it looked so cool and nerdy.
Soon the sun came out, burned the mist away and we got hot. No problem, here’s the solution.
We were warned that the water was freezing, nothing further from the truth, just refreshing! From there we followed the wanderweg to a beautiful waterfall where we had lunch and then on to a village where we waited for the bus by having another swim, spoilt by a loud family from Holland.
The bus took us to Ringgenberg, a pretty village with a medieval church/castle which we spent some time admiring.
On the way back had a quick look at Ringseeli, a tiny lake, where we happened to run into our friend from the camping before heading back to Interlaaken for the usual shopping/camping.
