Cycling

All these hassles with the kitchen has played havoc with our training schedule, perhaps just as well because I think we were overdoing it just a little. Friday night I consulted windguru and the wind direction and strength seemed to be ideal to to the Marine Drive circuit clockwise, not our usual direction. And so it proved to be, against the wind but downhill we zooted off down Buffelsfontein, negotiated the road works by the airport, through Summerstrand and then we hit Marine Drive with a strong wind in our backs, highest gear, what a pleasure. As Murphy has it of course I had forgotten to reset the gps after Steytlerville so I couldn’t get proper statistics of our ride but I’m sure they must have been impressive.

Then off to the tile-shop to select some wall tiles for the kitchen and then hurry home to field the calls of people interested in renting the house. So far we got two very interested so hold thumbs. Showing the interior of the house was rather chaotic because we were in full swing moving things around for the so-maniest time, hopefully for the last time in a while.

Today just a short ride (24km) but we started late and the strong wind made it into quite an exercise, good practice for the Dutch breezes. Then varnishing edgings, working out tile layouts and Ellie is busy painting the inside of a cupboard (and herself). Sounds like a typical relaxing weekend 🙂
