Early up, coffee, rusks and pack. Goodbye to German girl who cycled off, legs pumping, her poor bicycle creaking under all the weight. We walked to tram, managed to use yesterdays tickets and then special bus to airport, the usual booking in etc. and then when I wanted to check in realised I still had my knife in my pocket so back to EasyJet and they went out of their way to help us and put the knife in a special envelope for me to collect at Schiphol.
On the flight we had some great views, first of the mountains we were leaving behind and then of Zeeland where we were going to.
Here we had a good look at the Zeelandbrug, the bridge we had cycled across not so long ago.
At Schiphol everything went smoothly, picked up our luggage, including the envelope containing my knife, had some lunch and found the train to Vlissingen which left three minutes later. Similar situation in Vlissingen where you have about five minutes to walk from the train to the ferry including buying the tickets. At the ferry we were told it was full but just before it left they still let us on. In Breskens we worked out which bus to take and the driver was kind enough to make a special stop near my brother’s place so we wouldn’t have to walk that far.
They were not there but we had the key so made ourselves at home, end of Swiss adventure.
