Our mission today was to visit the Bachalpsee, an alpine lake close to the small village of First. Again train to Grundelwald and then up with the cableway with individual gondolas, very nice trip. From the end of the cable station it is a short way to the lake. On the way there plenty of Japanese tourists but on our way down hardly anybody.
From the gondola you have lots of photo opportunities, we liked the geological features of this range.
At first we were a bit disappointed with the lake, quite a bit smaller than we expected, nonetheless a very beautiful setting.
We decided to forego the cable way down but instead walk the botanical path down and it lived up to its name with many flowers and great settings.
We now had the taste of cable ways so when we reached the middle station we went up to the top again, then down and then a different one back to the train.
