Today we wanted to put in some distance again, we were told by our friend at the farm that today’s stage would be relatively flat and he didn’t lie, twenty out of the eighty kilometers were flat as a pancake. We resisted the temptation to cut off a piece of coast and still went to see the sights, this is a typical view of a street in a village, St Jean-something…
The church had some beautiful stained glass windows, difficult to capture but I tried
Somebody had tried to put past and present together, I leave it for you to decide whether it works
We still did some other towns along the coast, can’t get enough of those islands. The difference between low and high tide is enormous here so many islands disappear altogether at high tide where others you can reach on foot at low tide. We then hit the main road and made a beeline for Plougerneau, quite literally as we rode through a swarm of bees, luckily no sting even though a few hitched a ride on Ellie’s back for quite a long distance.
In Plougerneau we made our usual visit to info, we were none too impressed with the girlie but at least she showed us the various campings. We chose the one another 5 kilometers away and it proved to be an excellent choice, not only a great view of the bay but also wifi even though this morning as I sit typing I am locked out and have to sit on a low wall outside the front door to get signal.
This is how I felt though when we arrived 🙂
And at sunset it looked like this, after the disaster, our romantic sundowners on the rocks didn’t happen as when this dodo pulled out the cork of the winebottle and in doing so hit the bottle on the rock, whoosh, all our precious wine gone, chocolate milk instead 🙁
