We are now proper tourists even if on a bicycle, winding through narrow streets of little villages, admiring the extravagant architecture of the ‘belle epoche’ with the summer houses of the rich Parisiens at the turn of the 19th century. Then it is across the impressive barrage, a concrete wall across a river with its beautiful views of the yachts, boats and islands.
After a lovely lunch at yet another bay we go in search of food for the evening because the sooner we turn in the better as the miserable weather promised for Tuesday makes an early appearance.
Just for Nick we thought we take a pic of this sign:
The raindrops are getting heavier and the temperature plummets so when I see a sign to a SuperU I turn into its direction. Unfortunately the French got this silly habit to express distance in minutes so you don’t know if it is snail, car or bullet so it was rather further than I expected. As luck has it though we passed a perfect camping so after shopping we made a beeline back, pitched the tent under a big tree, hit the hot showers, cooked in the tent and, in spite of the elements, had a lovely time.
