Lidy suggested a short walk on the ravel near their home, I suspect that ravel is a conjugation of randonnee and velo or walking and cycling. In Europe and especially Holland and Belgium they conserve the paths along disused trainlines, canals, rivers etc. for recreation purposes and here we explored the path along old mine dumps.
I took lots of photos of the wild flowers along the path, I had plenty of time because this short walk turned out to be two and a half hours!
Then a quick lunch before heading home, Lidy was tired so had a nap and after that had enough energy again to still chat for a while before returning.
