GPS and Netbook struggle

I spent quite a bit of time learning some of the quirks  of my new gps toy and I think I am getting there. With the latest version of MapSource and the map of Europe I am quite able to find my way around there. The issue of a limit of 250 points maximum to transfer to the gps is not really a problem but did necessitate the download of the latest version of GpsBabel.

So now, as long as we are connected to the internet it is a matter of selecting an area, going on Gpsies.com to find tracks that we like, save them and copy the route to the gps to follow. When we call it quits we look for lodging on the gps and find the nearest.

Later this week we shall try it around here as I have downloaded the Ironman cycle stage around Marine drive so we’ll see how easy it will be to follow a preset route.
