Woke up to this amazing sight of the Eiger Nordwand, a place I have heard and read about so much and now could almost touch it.
Our camping had given us a card for free use of all the buses in Interlaken which proved to be very convenient to get us to the trainstation from where we used our six day pass for the train routes into the mountains to get to Lauterbrunnen to get a taste of walking in the Alps.
A kind tourist offered to take this sweet picture of us in the main street of Lauterbrunnen.
The walking paths are easy to follow and the signs also indicate how long a particular trail should take, this is very handy when you have a train to catch to get back to camp. We just followed the path up the valley till we came to Trummelbach Falls, an amazing waterfall with an even more amazing combination of a lift, steps and tunnels into the steep gorge, photos just don’t do it justice.
We were accompanied by hordes of tourists so it was nice to get away from it all and have a nice picnic next to a stream with our feet in the icy water.
We then followed the river all the way back to Wilders which turned out to be quite a long and hot walk but made enjoyable by the lovely scenery.
