Rain, rain, buckets of rain. Fortunately we had finished cooking our sumptuous supper which needed a lot of time on the Trangia and had set the tent up. First showers throughout the night and then almost continuous for the whole day. We decided this is no weather for cycling, the big communal tent on the campsite seemed a much better option so when there was a short respite we moved in, lock stock and barrel.

Good opportunity to do some housekeeping on the netbook, backup the photos and tracks to usb drive, catch up on blogging and plan the next section, hopefully tomorrow. We are still desperately trying to contact my sister, Rita because next week we should be knocking on their door if all goes well but so far unsuccessful.

No internet unfortunately so we had to be satisfied with firing off some sms’s, one to Nick to South Africa to get tomorrows weather report for Paris, some rain but a lot better than today so  hopefully we can get going again.

Supplies are running very low so whatever happens we need to get out to a shop tomorrow, veggies tonight were stir fried stinging nettles from outside the tent with macaroni and cheese, tasted a lot better than it sounds.

We have pitched our little tent inside the big tent so whatever happens we will stay dry tonight.
