Gee, time flies when you are having fun, last update was on Tuesday. In the meantime it is official, all documents are signed so the tenants are coming. Bad news is that they want hardly any furniture and no crockery so we will have to squeeze even more into the various places. I managed to clear quite a bit of space so we’ll see next week if freezer, fridge, double bed and lounge suite can get squashed in. We can always take the overflow to storage I suppose, we are not up to roof height there yet even though the number of large boxes is now more than fifty.
Our flatlet tenants came and removed the last of their stuff and even cleaned thoroughly, we are very happy with the state they left the place in, not like the previous tenants who left lots of damage and filth. Windows and doors are open all the time to try and remove the smoke smell, washing the curtains has helped a lot and I think once the carpets are cleaned it should smell fresh as a daisy. I doubt that we will have occupants before we leave but Mariana is quite capable of looking after that aspect.
My workshop looks quite bare, I took a bold step and after finally putting an edge on the lounge cupboard I took the thicknesser and my router table to storage plus a whole box of hand tools so I will also be putting my hands on empty places.
We’ve only cycled three times this week, boo, but we did put in the kilometres as we have upped the stages to round about 50 kms, it would be nice to do a century before we leave but as the bikes will be packed next Monday I am not confident that we will be able to make the time as that would be a full day.
This week will be more admin with bank, dentist, dstv, carpet cleaning and all that nice stuff and of course tomorrow there is that wedding anniversary that I better not forget.
